Yes, so that emotional support and physical support and just being with women in pregnancy and then transitioning to more of the medical aspect of care. There’s a lot of blending and lot of understanding both roles really well because I had been a doula before I became a midwife. I knew I wanted to be a midwife, so while I was in school, I worked as a doula, and then once I got my nursing degree and then ultimately my midwifery degree, I transitioned from that type of support because now I was able to work as a midwife.
